Today we will join with many friends and family to celebrate Parke's life. Today is a good day. Today, I am thankful that we have a reason to celebrate and a baby in heaven that belongs to our family.
I have moments of being so sad, but I try to remind myself to be thankful that God gave us the gift of such a beautiful baby...even just for a short time. Eternity will not be short, and we will be with him again for those days. I'm so thankful for Parke Henry, and today we will celebrate his days of LIFE here with us. His days were peaceful, precious, and full of love.
Job 1:21
“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.”
Linsey and Micah,
ReplyDeleteOn this day of celebration you are in my thoughts and prayers. As I told you last week, I have a sense of joy for Parke that parallels my sadness. Joy that he has felt the love of a mommy, the love of a family and the love of Christ from the day you took him into your arms, all in a way he would never have experienced if this story were told differently. I believe this love maybe the reason he found strength to celebrate milestones with you we could never anticipate. His strength and determination are unforgettable. Although his journey seemed short, he has carried us all through a life changing experience. And now I'm convinced he is telling Jesus he can't wait to see his family and his cardiologist again, to show them the healed body he has received.
Mark 9:36-37. Then Jesus put a little child among them, taking the child in his arms, he said to them, “anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf welcomes me and also my Father who sent me”.
Thank you for showing us all how to love a child so unconditionally. Parks life IS unforgettable. I will never forget.

You are so special to us Dr. Best. Thank you!
DeleteLindsey,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Katrin and I just came across your blog. We briefly met down in Little Rock at ACH. Our son Evan was in the room next to Parke when you were down there. I just read his full story and my heart just hurts for you. I will keep your family in my prayers. I hope your family can find comfort in all of the prayers. Do you mind if I share your story with some friends, so they can pray for you too?

Katrin,
DeleteSo glad you found us...I've been wondering about Evan, but hadn't had a chance to look you up. Glad you guys are home! Sharing Parke's story would be great. We appreciate the prayers!
I am glad I found your blog (what a small world). I had been thinking about you guys. I will continue to pray for your family and hope that all of the prayers will give you some comfort. I will continue to keep up with your family through your blog.
DeleteLindsey,
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious family you have. I have loved reading your blog about baby Parke. I'm so very sorry that his sweet life was so short, but what a blessing he was to you all and you to him. He has the sweetest little face in all of the pictures. Praying for comfort and peace for you, Micah and your cutie pie kids.
Marlo Nelson
Thank you for your sweet comments, Marlo!!
