Joy through Loss

A week from yesterday, my Mamaw passed away. She was my first grandparent to pass away, and it is such a strange feeling. I didn't see her as often as I should have, but now that she is gone, I can think of a million things I should have asked her...of course. She was a beautiful woman, and everyone always commented on how pretty her skin was. When I get compliments on my skin, I always reference my Mamaw. :) I am so thankful that Landry and Collier have had the opportunity to meet 7 out of 8 of their great-grandparents...that is really something special!

I am finding joy in the fact that I know my Mamaw was a follower of Christ...I know she is no longer in any pain, and I know she is celebrating in Heaven with my Savior. I am so thankful for the assurance that I will see her again one day. :)

Role Models

Role Models....we all have them.

 Unfortunately, Collier is modeling some of the wrong behaviors. :)

So, I have learned a few things this week:

1. The blue crayons taste the best.

2. Even though I have been referred to as a helicopter mom, it still doesn't keep your 8 month old from getting a black eye when he falls down the stairs.

3. Even with built in baby gates, it is possible for said baby to fall down the stairs when his lovely role model opens the gate for him to climb up.

Picture Overload...

I just got the disk from Landry's 2 year photo shoot with our friend, Stephanie. I seriously don't know how she gets some of the shots she does. She captures Landry's little personality so perfectly! If you have read our blog for very long, you probably can tell that I am a little obsessed with milestone pictures. :) I LOVE looking back and seeing how my babies are growing.

Landry is 2, and it is hard to believe. She is a sassy little thing and so much fun to be around. She is like a little sponge and learning new things everyday! She brings so much joy to my life, and I am enjoying watching her grow (even though it is a little hard how fast it is going by!!).

Little missy left about an hour ago to go CAMPING with Gigi, Papa-D, and her two cousins. She is going to have a great time! They might not sleep, but they are making some precious memories. I am going to miss her like crazy, but I am going to try to soak up some love from my little man while he is able to get all the attention! :)

Someone Special Turned 2!

Landry's 2nd birthday party was a big hit! She was so excited to be at the Little Gym, have all of her friends around, and get to open presents! We had a Blue's Clues theme, or as Landry says, "Jews Jews." She was so happy to have Blue on her shirt and was quick to tell us, "I 2!"

It was a wild time with over 20 kiddos running around like crazy! Landry loved that part. :) She was totally exhausted by the end of the party! We are so glad our sweet girl had a fun birthday bash!
