Outside!

I love being outside this time of year. It isn't too hot yet, but just right. We have enjoyed being outside with Landry and trying to make sure that she likes it too! We have gone on walks around the neighborhood, gone swimming, and been sitting on our back porch a lot. We are ready to get some wood soon to start burning in our fire pit! Love, love, love spring!

Landry is taking a bottle!!

We tried giving Landry a bottle for the first time earlier this week. She loves it! She has done a fantastic job switching back and forth between bottle and breastfeeding, and it is a WONDERFUL thing for me. It is so nice to be able to have someone else feed her when I need to. Right now, we are feeding her bottles only during the day and nursing her at night. This seems to be working great so far, and I hope it continues to be this easy!
It is really sweet to see her daddy feeding her too...I know that is a special time for them!

We are home!

Sorry it has taken me so long to post. We finally got to come home from the hospital on Thursday afternoon with no definite answers. The doctor says that Landry's fever was probably due to a virus of some sort. She is feeling MUCH better now, and she acts like nothing happened. :) I am so thankful that she is small enough that she won't remember having to be in the hospital at all. We are so thankful for all your prayers and concerns...we are blessed to have friends and family like you!
As you can see from the pile of dirty clothes in the background, it took us a few days to get settled back in!

Hospital Update...

Landry's fever was normal all night, but has spiked this morning to 103. We are continuing to wait on the blood culture to see if this is a bacterial or viral infection, but we won't have those results until tomorrow morning.
Landry is taking some Tylenol to try to make her more comfortable now. She is on two different antibiotics, and so her little tummy is upset! :( She also has little bruises where they poked her so many times yesterday. She is pitiful, and it breaks my heart!
She has continued to nurse well through the night, and I am really pleased with that. Hopefully she will start feeling better soon!

Our ER Visit...

Well, we are here at the hospital for the next 2 nights. Here is what happened...
Last night about 1:00 Landry woke up SCREAMING. She normally cries, but doesn't normally SCREAM. I couldn't get her to calm down for quite a while, and she was really warm and red. I thought at first that it was just because her belly was upset, and that her being warm was just because she got so worked up. We cuddled up in the bed, and she slept beside me for the next 2 hours. Around 3:00 she woke up SCREAMING again, and she was even warmer than she was the first time. I woke Micah up, and we took her temperature. Her rectal temperature was 102.5.

I wasn't sure what 102.5 meant in a little baby, so I got online and looked quickly. I found that if the baby was less than 3 months old, their temp shouldn't pass 101.5 without you taking them in to the doctor. So....off we rushed to the ER.

We got to the ER by 4:00, and we didn't have to wait at all. We got right in, and the tests began. Landry was poked by 5 different nurses trying to get blood (ugh...the worst thing ever!), had a spinal tap (also the worst thing ever), had her urine tested, and lots of other "non-invasive" tests.

Around 7:30, the doctor decided that he would admit us to the hospital and transfer us to a room. Our normal doctor came to see us at noon and told me that we would be staying for 48 hours to wait on the blood culture results. Every test so far has come back with good results. The doctor believes that it is a viral infection, but we will not know for sure until Thursday. She is being treated with antibiotics for a bacterial infection...just incase.

Here are a few pictures of our sweet angel. I will take more later.

All the testing just wore her out! She has been sleeping like a rock all day long. So glad she is getting good rest!

Landry was such a trooper, and I couldn't be more proud of her. I think I cried just as much as she did. It is hard to see your baby being messed with!!

We continue to pray for healing for our sweet baby and for a speedy recovery. You joining us in prayer means the world. Will keep you posted!

Here are some eyes...

Here are some pictures with our pretty girl's eyes open. So sweet...I could just eat her up!

This is one of the first times she took her pacifier. We have figured out that she WILL NOT take the pacifier from me. If Micah or one of our moms gives it to her, she will take it. If I am holding her, she will start screaming until I let her nurse instead...even if she isn't hungry! She is a smart and demanding little girl already!

Sorry for the short posts lately...I will give a one month update soon of all the exciting things Landry is doing. It is hard to type while holding a squirmy baby!

SLEEP!!

It seems like the only pictures I post are of Landry sleeping, but that is pretty much all she does these days. She especially likes to sleep during the day and keep me up a little bit at night...it is a really fun game that we have started playing. :)

Here is Landry passed out in her bouncy seat. Again, LOVES it during the day...not so much at night.

At some point I should probably start buckling her in!

I love the bouncy seat because it is the only way I get to shower each day! The things I get excited about now are so strange! :)

Here is Landry napping on Mother's Day. Look at that full belly!

Newborn Pictures!

My friend, Kate, took Landry's newborn pictures several weeks ago. Here are a few of the pictures for you to see. She did such a fabulous job! She also made her birth announcement that I will post once I actually get the hard copies mailed out. :) We will be taking Landry's 1 month pictures this week, so I will share those soon.

This is one of my favorites!!

Being held by Daddy...one of her favorite things!

Love these little feet!

Smiles!

Landry has already grown so much since these pictures...I can't believe it! I am so thankful that I will have pictures to help me remember when she was so small. :)

Daily Blessings...

I love waking up with this sweet little blessing in our room. Landry has brought such joy to our lives that I cannot imagine what we did before we had her! People told me that we would feel this way, but I didn't understand...until now.

Today, Landry is 4 weeks old. It is going so quickly, but at the same time, I can't believe we haven't even had her 30 days yet! She has been feeling much better, and sleeping better at night. I really don't think she truly has colic...I think last week she must have just still had a bit of the bug.

She is such a sweet baby and starting to be more alert. When I am holding her and Micah is talking, she is constantly looking around for him. Love.It. She is going to be a daddy's girl!

Check out these sweet pudgy toes!

I am thankful to God everyday for my precious baby and wonderful husband. I could not ask for a better family. I am blessed!

My First Mother's Day...

I had a fabulous first Mother's Day with my wonderful husband and sweet baby! We got to see the Gibson family on Saturday night, sleep in a little bit on Sunday, go to brunch at Copeland's, watch a movie in the afternoon, and go to dinner at my mom's house. It was wonderful and very relaxing!

Speaking of relaxing...Micah and Landry got me a day at the spa! I can't wait to go use it!

After our movie time and nap...

Landry getting to see Uncle Tyler for the second time!

Landry with her MiMi!

3 weeks!!

Friday was our baby girl's 3 week birthday! I can't believe how fast it is going by!

Landry has developed a little bit of colic, and has been extremely fussy in the evenings. Her poor little tummy will make the most terrible noises. We are trying to figure out if we can manage it with my diet, so this week we are cutting out dairy. Hopefully something will help!

Below are a few pictures from Friday...

During "tummy time," Landry does SUCH a good job holding up her head. She is strong!!

We love our sweet little blessing so much, and we are thankful for her everyday. What a wonderful gift she is!!

Sick Little Baby...

Our little baby has been sick this week. Now, we are both sick! The stomach bug has been being passed around in our family and the daycare that my nephew goes to. We tried to stay away from everyone that was sick, but somehow we still got it!
Poor little Landry's stomach has been cramping up, and she has thrown up a few times. It is so hard taking care of a little sick one that can't tell you what is wrong!
She is still the sweetest thing in the world...even when she is sick and fussy!

Landry's First Razorback Game!

We got to celebrate Landry's 2 week birthday last night by heading out to the Razorback Baseball game. Thankfully, we got to sit inside one of the boxes, so she stayed nice and warm!

We got Landry weighed again on Friday, and she now weighs 8.5 lbs. She has gained 14 ounces in one week!! She is going to be a sweet little chubbins soon! As you can see from the pictures below, she is off to a good start! :)
