Day In Our Lives: Friday

Today has been a whirlwind, so I am just now getting to post about everything we did yesterday. Hope my crazy brain remembers! :)
I do remember Landry had a little bit of a rough night on Thursday. Between her getting to bed late and teething, she was a little restless in her sleep and cried out a few times. Nothing too long, and she put herself back to sleep each time, but it woke us up over the monitor throughout the night. We both woke up a little tired about 7:30 yesterday morning.
One of my best friends from Eastern Arkansas (the one that we blogged about with the twin girls) was in town for the weekend, so she and I had plans to meet for a childless lunch and some shopping at the mall. We needed time to catch up, and it was so much fun. Landry and I had breakfast, got showers, and played a little bit before she went down for her morning nap about 9. I got ready while she slept, and my mom came over to pick her up about 11 when she woke up.
I went and met my friend, Paige, at the mall. We had lunch, shopped, and I got a huge double-doozy cookie (YUM!). Landry went back to Mimi's and played all afternoon, and I picked up a worn-out baby around 3:30. She fell asleep in the car on the way home from Mimi's, and I decided that I was going to try to HOLD her for her nap. :) We have not been able to hold this baby while she sleeps since she was at least 11 months old. She likes to be in her crib and roll around and stretch however she wants. I had to be really easy and rock her a little bit to make sure she stayed asleep, but it worked!

I got to hold this sweet, sweaty baby on the couch for almost a whole hour! When she woke up, I tried putting her down in her crib for the rest of her nap, but that didn't work. I guess one hour of cuddling and napping on mommy is as good as two hours in the crib! :)

Here is a picture of her "black-eye" that I blogged about yesterday. If you look closely, it is more like a black line all the way up her cheek and the top of her head. She hit the door frame when she fell, so it is a perfect line. Poor baby!

When Landry woke up, Daddy was getting home from work. We had a few errands we wanted to run (as always), so we ran to Sam's and a few other places before coming home. We got home, put on our pj's, and played in Landry's room for a while.

Landry found a pink t-shirt, and somehow got it over her head in a weird way. Micah was calling her Little Pink Riding Hood...lol. She also found one of my elastic headbands and had it on as a necklace. She is really starting to enjoy playing dress up!

She also found her "button" last night. She is so funny pulling up her shirt and getting so excited when she finds it. If you have a button, she wants to see it, and she will dig, scratch, and pull off any clothing necessary to get to it. :) What a fun phase.

While we were playing in Landry's room, Micah and I finished hanging her curtains! I cannot even stand how much I love them! We picked out fabric that matched Landry's bedding that we had made last year, and an awesome lady from our church made these beautiful panels!

I love Landry's room because it just makes me smile. I like bright colors, and her room feels like a happy place to me. She seems to love playing up there, and especially loves rolling around on her soft new rug!

After Landry went to bed, Micah and I finished up on a project for Collier's room that we had been working on...

We got this piece of rusted tin from an old barn that is falling down at my dad's house. The barn is at least 100 years old, so we loved bringing a piece of something old and fun into our sweet baby's room. We attached some fun letters that I found at Hobby Lobby to the tin, and I think it turned out as a fun way to decorate over little Collier's crib! His room is close to being done, and I will post a picture of the whole room then.

After that, we were tired! We had to get up early this morning (Saturday) to get around for a family baby shower. Can't wait to post and tell you all about our Saturday...that will be the last of the "Day In Our Lives" posts! I can't believe we have made it a whole week!

Day In Our Lives: Thursday

Thursday was kind of an interesting day for us. We woke up around 7, and Landry and I both seemed to be not feeling too hot. Nothing big, we were just both grumpy, still tired, and Landry has big red knots on her gums where 4 teeth are trying to come in! I was feeling run-down, and I could hardley keep my eyes open while we were playing that morning! We had our cleaning people coming to clean at 9, so as soon as I opened the door to let them in, Landry and I both went down for a serious nap.
**Before I move on, you are probably thinking...."Cleaning people!?" how lazy can Lindsey be? Ha, at least that is how I feel like it sounds! Micah and I both have our strengths and weaknesses, and keeping the house clean (floor to ceiling) is one of my big weaknesses. I like to pick up clutter and have everything in its place, and we both love having a clean house. This was all disclosed to Micah before we were married, so no surprises. We have a cleaning lady, and we love eachother much, much more because of it!** :)

I was scheduled to attend a board meeting for Ronald McDonald House yesterday, and I always look forward to those and catching up on everything I am missing out on. :) For those of you who are new to the blog, before my job as mommy, I had a super fun and rewarding job as the director for RMHC. L-O-V-E-D it, but love little Landry more! :) I feel very lucky that I still get to be involved without the pressure of all the day-to-day stuff. Anyway, I say all that to finally say....I missed the meeting. It was scheduled for noon, and by the time I woke up from my droolfest (I mean, light nap), it was too late for me to get around and to the meeting.

I woke up a little before Landry and got showered and clothes thrown on before she got up. She woke up, we got her dressed, and THEN since we used all of our energy napping...we were hungry. :)

The ladies were cleaning in the kitchen about that time, so we jumped in the car and were able to meet Micah for a late lunch at our local country club. It was fun to get to see him during the day and for us to get out a little bit. After lunch, Landry and I had to make a return to Dillards, and they were having an extra 30% off all their sale items. Woo hoo!! I would normally be thrilled about this and soak it all up, but I had a baby with me that didn't want in her stroller and was ready to leave the minute we got in the store. We made our return, I grabbed some lipstick at Sephora, and we headed home.

Landry, of course, went down for another nap almost as soon as we got here. I did a few loads of laundry and started working on getting dinner ready. We have had plans for weeks to have some of our friends over to see the house and visit, so I was glad that my energy was back in the afternoon to get everything ready. We had Mexican Grilled Chicken, Spanish Style Quinoa, chips and salsa, and a salad. It was good...sorry, no pictures. Also, while Landry was napping, her curtains were delivered! Micah and I got them hung yesterday, but they are still needing a little tweaking. Pictures will be on tomorrow's post!

Landry and I waiting on our friends to get here!

Our friends came about 6:30, and we ate dinner and got to catch up. They have 4 gorgeous girls ranging from 18 months-13 years. Landry had a BLAST playing with all of them. She even got a pretty good black eye (I will get a picture tomorrow) because she was so excited about showing them all of her toys that she fell off a little stool and banged the door frame. She is one tough cookie though...not much crying!

Micah turned on Toy Story 3 for the girls in the media room, and they thought that was the best thing ever! Poor Collier....he won't know what to do with all these girls around. :)

Our friends left around 9:15, and we were all worn out. Landry went to bed, and Micah and I watched a little bit of the news before heading to bed ourselves. That's all for Thursday!

Day In Our Lives: Wednesday

Landry and I woke up around 8:30 this morning and had breakfast. She happily ate her banana with a fork and then we went to play as usual.

Landry found a bow that she wanted to wear, and kept putting it on and taking it off. Again today, we read a lot of books before nap time. Her favorite book right now is "Brown Bear, Brown Bear," and she loves to try to make all the animal noises. :)

About 9:45, we started making our way upstairs to get dressed and nap. Landry likes to crawl up the stairs herself. It is a process, but it is kind of nice for me to not have to carry her at this point. I am already out of breath by the time I get to the top with carrying my extra 20 pounds!

When Landry went down for her nap, I made our bed and got ready for the day. I love making our bed. If nothing else gets done during the day, I feel like something has been accomplished if there are no dishes in the sink and our bed looks pretty! :)

Landry woke up around 11:45, and we had plans to meet my mom and nephew Judd to eat at this old cafe that we love. My mom has been wanting to go for weeks, and her husband is not a big fan. :) I was a very willing participant to go and soak up some grease!

To start with, Landry ate a torn up roll with her fork. She will eat just about anything if I let her "poke" it with her fork!

Then, she and I split THIS! Peppered steak, mashed potatoes, fried squash, and green beans. Landry ate a TON, and seemed to love every bite.
And, we can't go to this cafe without sharing a piece of coconut cream pie. We got one piece of pie with 4 forks. :) Everyone enjoyed it, but Judd kept picking out the tiny pieces of coconut out of his mouth.

After lunch, we ran by my grandparents house for them to get to see 2 of their 3 current great-grandchildren. The love getting to see them, and it was a fun change of scenery for Landry!

I don't know what this was about, but Landry thought that this is what she was supposed to do with the balls from the pool table.

We didn't get home until about 4:30, and Landry was SO ready for a nap. She went down, and I woke her up around 6:00. Micah got home around that time, and we ate a quick dinner. Landry and Micah got showers, and then we made a quick trip to Wal-Mart for me to grab just a few things that I forgot the other day.

We came home, got Landry dressed for bed and put her in her crib at 8:30.

This is what I have planned for the rest of my night....

Ahhh! Two of my favorite things right now!

We came up to the media room to watch tv and hang out. Micah decided that he didn't get enough time with Landry once he got home, and we noticed she was still awake on the monitor. SO, Landry was allowed to get out of her crib for another 20 minutes or so to come cuddle with her Daddy. :) She was extremely excited to be breaking the rules!

Landry is back in bed now, and we are getting close to heading that way. It has been a busy day for us all, and I am looking forward to a good night's rest! See you tomorrow!

Day In Our Lives: Tuesday

This morning, Landry woke up earlier than usual. Which meant that I had to wake up earlier than usual too. Blah. We were out of bed by 7:15 and ate breakfast. Then, we went and played in the playroom and had a pretty normal morning routine.

Pretty normal until Landry started breaking down for her nap around 8:30.

I kept her up until about 9:15, and then she slept until 11:15. While she slept, I took a little nap and then did some of my daily Bible reading. Being so late in our pregnancy, I am just exhausted if I stay up too late or wake up without getting enough sleep. I was so thankful that both of us got our much needed naps today!

When Landry got up, she got dressed for the day, and we stayed upstairs and played for a while.

I had some stuff for church to do on the computer, so I turned on Sesame Street in the media room. Landry had never watched it before, but she loved watching it on the big screen!

After all of that, it was nap time for little missy again. She went down about 2:00 and slept until 4. While she was napping this time, I was able to get some laundry done, make some phone calls that I had been needing to make, and finally get showered and ready for the day. We had plans with some friends from church that we are starting a new Sunday school class with, so I had to be ready to head out when Micah got home from work.

I wasn't completely done getting ready when Landry got up, so she came in our bathroom and played peek-a-boo with me using the closet doors. She loves this game and thinks she is so sneaky!

Look at that little hand and foot!

Then, she blew herself kisses in the mirror. I am glad she likes herself! :)

I thought she was ready to leave, but she spilled her juice all over her and had a super dirty diaper right as we were about to leave the house. At least it happened before we got out!

We met our friends at the park, and had one of the girls snap a family picture for us. This is the best that we got because it was bright and HOT!
We didn't stay at the park long, we just had to take some video and get some pictures for the church and the new class. It is going to be a fabulous class for young families...we are so excited to be a part of it!
Afterwards, we went for a quick dinner with the group and then to TCBY for dessert...

As you can see, Landry loved relaxing (and eating!) at TCBY.

We had a wonderful Tuesday! See you tomorrow for **hopefully** a wonderful Wednesday!

Day In Our Lives: Monday

Today was a great day for us. We had a pretty normal schedule, and we didn't have anything planned that we HAD to do. It was nice to just go with the flow and work with Landry's schedule.
I got out of bed about 7:45 as Micah was leaving for work. Landry was starting to squirm and was ready to be up by about 8.

We shared a bowl of organic oatmeal with locally grown peaches, organic whole milk, and a little turbinado sugar (only on mine). We don't always eat junk like we did yesterday. :) During the week, I try to make sure Landry gets all the nutrients she needs, and then we bust it on the weekends. That makes life more fun!

Landry is way in to feeding herself right now. A little dangerous with a bowl that she can tip over or throw, but she did great!

Then, we went in the playroom and played for a while. We read a bazillion books, had a tea party, and did a few puzzles. We were both still in our pj's, and then Landry was ready to go down for a nap about 9:30. She went down easily and slept until 11:30.

While Landry was napping, I caught up on a little bit of my daily Bible reading, did two loads of laundry, and watched a recorded episode of Food Network Star. Micah came home for lunch, so we all got to eat together as a family (two of us STILL in our pj's). We love days like that.

After Daddy left, Landry and I took a shower and got dressed for the day. Then, we played and played a little more.

Landry wanted another nap at about 2:00, so I put her in her crib. She played until about 2:30, and then she slept until 4:30. I got dinner in the crock-pot while she was sleeping, did another load of laundry, and picked up lots of clutter around the house. I was waiting anxiously for her to get up because I needed to make a Wal-Mart run, and I wanted to beat the 5:00 crowd. We made it there and home by 5:30, so that wasn't too bad!

Landry woke up in a great mood and was being a little comedian the whole time we were out. She sang E-I-E-I-Oooooo to everyone who would listen at Wal-Mart, said (aka: YELLED) hi to everyone who walked by, and blew kisses to total strangers. When we got in the car, she took off her shoes, tickled her own feet (that is hilarious...we are trying to catch it on video), and then put her bowl on her foot and pretended it was her shoe. She was laughing at herself so hard...I loved it!

Micah got home from work about the same time we got back from the store. Dinner was ready in the crock-pot (Mexican chicken....yummy!), so we ate and then had a few errands that we wanted to run as a family. We went to Home Depot and Dillards, and Landry started breaking down in her stroller at Dillards around 7:30. She was getting sleepy and wanted to go home! We listened, and headed home quickly.

We got Landry in her pajamas and went in her room to play. She and Daddy were playing horsey, and it was honestly one of the most precious things ever. Landry thought it was so much fun, so we may have a new game on our hands!

How cute are these two? My absolute FAVORITE people in the entire world!

I love days like today. We didn't do much, but Landry stays so well rested and in a much better mood that way! See you tomorrow for Tuesday fun...I am hoping for another day similar to today!

Day In Our Lives: Sunday

Today started off like a normal Sunday for us. The alarm went off around 6:45, I hit snooze until about 7:15 and then got up to get ready for church. When our alarm goes off, we normally hear Landry move around a little bit on the monitor (her room is right above our's, and we think she can hear it) and then she goes back to sleep. Same thing this morning. We always plan to leave the house by 8:45 to get to the church and get Landry checked in the nursery before service starts at 9:15. This morning, this is what we were still looking at around 9:00!!

Landry was POOPED. We decided to let her sleep as long as she wanted because she has been having a rough time with teething and must be going though a growth spurt too. She ended up waking up right around 9:00, and we fed her breakfast, got her dressed, and rushed out the door.

I needed a quick picture of my cuties before we left, so we took a quick detour in front of the house. :)
With us running so behind, we didn't think we would make it to the church service at all, but only go to Sunday school. But, we had a nice surprise when we got there that they were still singing, and the pastor hadn't even started the lesson yet. We weren't as late as we thought! :)

While we were waiting on Landry to get up, I mixed up some of the pizza dough I talked about last week for us to have for lunch when we got home.
We got home around 12:30, fed Landry some yummy leftovers, put her down for a nap, and made our pizza. She is always exhausted when we get home from church since it is way past her normal nap time, so it was a nice surprise that she even stayed awake to eat lunch before passing out!

Our pizza was wonderful! We ate and then took a little nap ourselves on the couch until Micah left to play golf around 2.

Landry woke up around 2:15, and I fixed her hair in pig tails to go to the mall. :) I think she looks precious....and so big! (Sorry for the quality of this picture...it was on my phone.)
We got around and headed to the mall to make a few returns. The second that we pulled in a parking spot, it started raining. HUGE raindrops! I decided not to get the stroller out, so I just scooped Landry up and we only went in one store that I really needed to get done today.

After the mall, we swung by Dado and Nana's house to say hi. Nana just bought some popsicles that are little bitty tiny and made for kiddos. They are so cute, and Landry LOVED being able to manage it all by herself!

Dado took Landry on a quick Gator ride. She doesn't look happy here, but this is one of her favorite things to do out at their house. She loves to yell at the cows!

After that, we came home and Landry wanted back in her crib to take a nap. It was about 4:30, so I put her down and then rested on the couch while she "slept." I heard her on the monitor a few times playing, so I knew she wasn't sleeping. Before I knew it (I fell asleep!!), it was 6:00, and she was fussing to get up. I went up to get her and realized that I hadn't shut her blinds, so it was super bright in her bedroom. No wonder she wasn't wanting to sleep! These days, my brain is not even functioning. :)

Landry ate the pizza we had for lunch at dinner and I ate some cookie dough ice cream (ha!). Micah got home from golfing around 7:15, and he ate leftover squash casserole from earlier this week. We got baths and spent some time cuddling and playing on our bed before Landry drank her milk and went to sleep around 8:30. She loves to just lay down and put herself to sleep at night....she takes after her mommy and loves her sleep! :)

Now, Micah and I are hanging out in the media room. He is watching a movie, I just finished writing thank you cards from the baby shower, and we are about to head to bed. We are normally not this lazy on Sundays, but with Micah golfing, we decided just to rest and relax! It was a really fun day, and I feel super well-rested to start the week! See you tomorrow!

Look who started driving!!

Well, before I start this post, it is probably obvious that I didn't get to start the "day in our life" posts yesterday. We had a day that was pretty much anything but normal for us, so it really wasn't a good day to document what our lives are normally like. Landry slept 13 hours and didn't wake up until 9:30! Then, she went back down for a nap at 11:30 and slept until 3:00! I think she was probably just worn out from playing so hard with her Gigi and Papa-D, so the poor girl just needed a day to get back in her groove. :) I am planning on starting the daily posts on Monday because I really, really want to get some days documented before Collier gets here.

Speaking of Collier getting here, little missy is already being spoiled by her grandparents since she is going to be the big sis soon! Dado and Nana surprised Landry with A BRAND NEW CAR (ha!) this week. She was SO excited, and it was hilarious to see her get in, get out, shut the door, honk the horn, turn the key, etc. It is so surprising how fas they catch on! When she went to bed, the car was in our foyer, but Micah moved it after she went to sleep. The next morning, Landry freaked out and was pointing where the car was....basically saying, "someone stole my car!!" It was precious!

I know that becoming a big sister is going to be a huge change for Landry, but somehow I think she might survive! :)
